Crater Lake

Mitch had been here before and so he wanted to take me. It was so cool! The lake was actually a volcano that exploded over 7000 years ago. It is 5 miles across and the water is 2000 feet deep. The water is fresh and has been filled simply by snow storms. That is why the water is so blue. You can hike down to where the surface of the water and actually take a boat tour around it. The tours were all sold out but we did hike down to the bottom which was neat.

On our way home we stopped and got some pictures next to an elk that was right off the side of the road. Kind of fun!
