Mt. Timpanogos Hike

A few weeks ago we did a mini day trip up to Timpanogos Cave. It was fascinating. We learned that it is the only real glacier in Utah and can mean "water on rock." The hike up was perfect - not too hard and not too easy. A little steep up at the top, but I'm sure that is more because I'm not in perfect shape. The scenery on the way up is fabulous. Inside of the cave is 45 degrees year round and it is filled with neat formations and colors.

Our friends Allison and Chase
Chase's great great grandfather was one of the founders of the cave
Our view from inside the cave looking up
Kinda chilly so we had to snuggle up
Here the tour guide turned off all the lights so it was pitch black. He then used his flashlight and shone it on my diamond ring. It made red sparkles all over the cave. It must be real ;)
Stalagmites and Stalactites
Stalagmites is on the bottom because "it is reaching with all of its might to reach the top"
Stalactites is on the top because "it is holding tight to the top"
They say it only grows a 1/4 inch every 50 years! Crazy.
