Mrs. Wilkes

The best fried chicken I have ever had was at the Wilkes House. It is the epitome of yummy southern comfort food. It is a small restaurant located in the bottom of an old Savannah historic home. The restaurant is only open for lunch from 11:00-2:00. We, including my parents and the three girls, got there a little before 11:00 and waited in line for an hour and a half to get in. It was worth every minute. At 1:30 the line was still wrapped around the block.

You're served family style with over 20 dishes to choose from. We have a lot of pictures, but the girls are in them so, unfortunately, I am not going to post them. :(

For an extremely early Christmas present (maybe we are justifying a bit) Mitch got a camera. He is interested in getting into photography as a little hobby on the side. The afternoon we went to Mrs. Wilkes Mitch passed the time by taking pictures of the beautiful Savannah surroundings.
